Shine On – Vogue 1974
Home to Honey Rider
How gorgeous is this house in East Sussex? I think it’s quite a favourite amongst homes magazines. You can see it’s entire fabulousness on Light Locations. In fact I am pretty sure that the gorgeous pin up girl in picture 3 is what inspired me to go and find my own J.H Lynch art work (My Own Honey Rider), a few years back.
Do I want to hire it? More like move into it!

Through The Looking Glass
“I know who I WAS when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then”
― Lewis Carroll, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass

Heavenly Creatures
How beautiful are these masterpieces from french painter Carine Bouvard?
To create such delicate works Carine uses a mixture of acrylics, printmaking, oils and drawing. “Mes Femmes oscillent entre réalisme et onirisme, force et fragilité, maladresse et délicatesse, explains Carine “elles sont sur le fil et tout reste à explorer”.
(I won’t bother to translate – I’m sure you get the picture and doesn’t it sound so much better in french?)

Its All About The Bangle
Brushwork
How satisfying would it be to be able to create something incredible using whatever material you just happened to pick up? Aurore de la Morinerie can and I’m very jealous.
Here’s the evidence…..

The Italians Get Thrifty
I don’t normally blog about fashion week (let’s face it the world is bursting with them) but today, the first day in Milan, was such a hit of eclecticism, so far removed from the rather austere cocoon shapes, clean lines or fringed 1970’s nostalgia of the past couple of weeks and past seasons, it just needed to be posted.
A mix of thrift shop chic from the 90’s – sheer lace, fur coats – 1940s florals and berets, embellished jumpers and obligatory library glasses, it looks like Milan Fashion Week just might be the one to watch this season. Vintage stores around the world are breathing a huge sigh of relief.

Nothing Like Nostalgia
Bless Vogue! With their amalgamation of the Style.com site comes some wonderful trips down memory lane, with collections dating back to 1991 – from the years of the supermodel domination to the simplicity of the early nineties; from the slick Tom Ford glamour of the the 00s to the buff Brazilian bodies just a couple of years later.
Just a word of caution – pencil out a whole morning for this little peruse – as once you start you can’t stop!
